Rabbi Shafir Lobb
Rabbi Shafir Lobb is our rabbi. She came to Port Saint Lucie in July of 2012 after serving a congregation in Tucson, AZ for eight years.  We asked her to step forward and become our rabbi because of the many special gifts she brings to her rabbinate.  She has served on many boards in Tucson, including the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona, Jewish Children’s and Family Services, and the Jewish History Museum. She was also the president of the Tucson Board of Rabbis the year prior to moving to Port Saint Lucie.

Rabbi Shafir is working on two doctorates. She is about to complete her dissertation on Jewish Education / Organizational Leadership. Her Dissertation is titled “Exploring Leadership Goals for Academic Education and Identity Development in Complementary Jewish Education for Adolescents.” Rabbi Shafir is also well into her classwork for a doctorate of Jewish Studies. She is passionate about helping the next generation explore Judaism and take leadership roles in our community.

She is known for her warmth and compassion with everyone. Rabbi Shafir is a member of the Greater Treasure Coast Rabbinical Association and also participates in inter-faith programs in Port Saint Lucie. Rabbi Shafir also teaches World Religion, Religion in the US, and Student Success at Indian River State College. She was named by the College as an Adjunct Faculty of the Year in 2015.

Rabbi Shafir is the Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of the Treasure Coast.  She is a member of OHaLaH and a past president of the Tucson Board of Rabbis.
